I was flicking through the Guardian Weekend 12.7.14 – actually read a great piece about street food – but I also happened across one of the dullest ads I have ever seen.
Lanson Black Label Champagne have taken a boring library shot and produced the dullest ad for years – the page it is next to is a shot of peas in a pod and it leaves the Champagne Ad for dead. Lanson should hold their head in shame, the payoff line is ‘Crafted with Care’… something their team sadly hasn’t managed to apply to the ad.
When you look at the work Veuve Clicquot have been doing round the Polo Gold Cup it is like chalk and cheese, they are smooth, stylish and even have a high quality old fashioned deck chair in the famous yellow.
Honestly Lanson, it just isn’t good enough, Champagne outshone by peas!
