Great Work We've Done That Never Got Published

Great Work…

No.1 in a new series – ‘Great Work We’ve Done That Never Got Published, Dammit’. I reckon that Agencies and Designers have hard drives full of the stuff, languishing unseen and unloved.

Well not any more. This was part of a sadly unsuccessful pitch to tableware company Utopia. Shot by Heather Brown (the best food photographer in the north), we think it deserves a better fate.

Should you agree, we’ll show you the rest – you never know, for a reasonable consideration maybe they could be set free from their cyber prison…

Reebok

Did I mention we do work for Reebok? Nothing fancy, mainly trade catalogue work, but every now and then something tasty comes along that the big boys are too busy/important to do, which is where we come in. And delighted we are too.

This from a shoot for a Race For Life promotion to help sales through JJB Sports. Lots of running around Castlefield in Manchester on a cold April day (the models, not me).

Shot by the talented Michael Swallow www.michaelswallow.com – great sports and landscape photographer, and Chicken Pie maker of note.

We’d LOVE to do more of this kind of work – so all of you sports brands out there – call in for a chat. There’ll be no chicken pie, but some of the best coffee this side of Napoli.
And some great ideas to go with it.

Luxury & Glamour

We produced several season’s brochures for high end fashion retailer Emma Somerset some time ago, and I came across these gorgeous images that are just too good to keep buried in a file somewhere. We hired a swanky London apartment and over 2 days shot 18 outfits on two girls. Two hair and make up artists, a dresser and lots of tea kept the momentum going. It was a punishing schedule made possible by the sheer brilliance of the shooter, John Higginson – one of the nicest and most talented photographers we’ve worked with – as you’ll see on his website:
www.johnhigginson.co.uk
We love this kind of work – and for all you fashion retailers out there looking for something fresh – we are here, with all the ideas and all the best contacts…

Shhhhhhhhh…

Acoustics At Work is a new client who supply acoustic solutions for managing sound levels in the workplace. Research has identified that one of the biggest cause of lost productivity in open workplaces is conversational distractions.
Keeping all those noisy open plan offices nice and calm with some really quite clever hi tech acoustic pods, offices and screens has established AAW as a trusted and innovative manufacturer.
Client supplied the product renders, we sourced some cool library shots, and with a measured eye and a steady hand put a nice little job together, for a very reasonable cost and in the twinkling of an eye.
There is an A4 brochure (which we also produced in Dutch and French), full page ads in the architectural trade press and a flyer to give suppliers the heads-up that advertising is about to break.

We just couldn’t keep quiet about it.

Gorgeous

Just finished a shoot for our cosmetics client 2true. We LOVE these. Sarah Jones is the shooter, hair and make up from the brilliant Jo Clayton. This is a proposed design for a Point Of Sale header in store. More images to come…

Doggy Bags

We LOVE these. Small company making a big noise in the quality pet food market, MPM are getting rave reviews for their premium cat and dog food brand Applaws – with both wet and dry products. Now well established in pet food retailers, our favourite packs are the pouches, two of the huge range of flavours shown below. We designed them with see through areas on the front, so the high quality of the product could be seen for real, rather than the unrealistic product shots more famous brands favour (saucer of milk over here please).

Has the fizz gone a bit flat?

Is it us? Or have Moët taken their eye off the cork with this one? Scarlett Johannson looks distinctly unenthusiastic here – in stark contrast to last year’s gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana ads. Just check out the over enthusiastic Photoshop work, which has delivered a Barbie look to this and the other ads in the series. Shame…

IWP Website

We’ve updated our website. It’s a well known fact that all plumbers have leaky taps, mechanics drive patched-up Fiats and Agencies “must get round to re-doing” their websites. Conventional wisdom has it that that’s because we’re always too busy working for our clients, but I suspect it is a much bigger can of worms, and one I’m certainly not going to open here…

Our Best Ads

Every now and then, with a combination of hard work, a great product and a sprinkling of fairy dust you create an ad that ticks all the boxes.

I came across this ad recently for an old client, Drizabone, and thought I’d dust it off and use the power of the interweb to give it a bit of fresh air space.

Art direction (and model) Andy Irving, inspirational copy by Neil Lancaster (who was awarded Best Copywriting for this ad, Roses, 1996) and photography from John ‘The Eye’ Higginson.

Still stands up today. Sweet.
