IWP Rebrand

I know. It’s been a long time since we posted – but we’ve been busy cooking up a new website to show off our rebrand. We’re the same high quality design and marketing agency specialising in food and drink, but now with a funky new look…

Site will be up mid October – all feedback welcomed, unless you hate it – in which case keep your own council, thank you very much.

Flagged Up!

Here’s something we’ve done for Royal Greenland – one of the world’s leading seafood producers.

They make a range of seafood products sourced from the clear waters of the Arctic Ocean and the rest of the world – and asked us to come up with a design for their American Style Fish Fries.

What else to use but the good old Stars and Stripes?

Have a nice day…

Thirsty Work

WE LOVE PACKAGING DESIGN. With over 20 years experience in all areas of packaging and foodservice advertising and design, we were delighted when more work for the mighty Today’s Group was required – Still and Sparkling water label designs were needed for both foodservice and retail sectors.

The brief was to create a budget product that would look good on the table. Our trademark simple, classic, clean and eye-catching design style on clear labels was a theme everyone liked.

Which is nice.

More great ideas bursting to get out of the great ideas drawer – call us for yours…

Nice package…

We’ve been kept quiet recently working on a big grocery packaging project for a major UK retailer.

Supermarkets have been frantically redesigning their ‘Value’ ranges after negative consumer feedback, with some very pretty results (Waitrose, Tesco’s Everyday, Morrison’s)…  We’ve just about finished work on a range for the Today’s Group, a few of the twenty or so products are shown here.

From first sight of the brief at the end of June to design approval and delivery of artwork was less than ten weeks – hectic but we did it!

Great Work We've Done That Never Got Published

Georgia On My Mind

We recently designed two labels for The UK drinks distributor Marussia, for a Georgian wine made from grapes grown in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains, in the former Soviet Union.

Bordered by Russia in the north and Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan in the south, Georgian wine is famous throughout Eastern Europe and is now finding favour further west.

Unfortunately the labels that were approved weren’t ours – they’re shown above. You’ll have to wait until the wine is available here later this year, to see which version you prefer…

Before & After

AS ENGLISH WINE continues to gather critical acclaim, producers are making sure their labels are as compelling as their wines.

The Mount is a boutique vineyard on the chalky slopes of the Darenth valley in Kent, where amongst other wines they produce the wonderful Rondo & Regent.

On the shelf, the existing label blended in with hundreds of other bottles from all over the world and as such was thought to be a little… ordinary for such an exciting product. We came up with several ideas – some traditional with a twist, some more dramatic – before ending up with the client’s favourite shown here.

If you’ve got a project in the pipeline or just fancy giving something existing a makeover – call us, we’ll make sure you enjoy your Afters…

Applaws heard in Australia

The Coles Supermarket chain in Australia have the second largest market share behind Woolworths, and we recently finished their requirement for the popular Applaws brand of 100% natural catfood to go instore.

As well as the packaging, work also included creating a website.

So far, sales for this premium product are encouragingly strong.

We are now busy adapting the packaging and website for a similar project to roll out in the US.

PS – and this whole post was created without resorting to any unwarranted catastrophic gags (well almost)!

Spring Creek Estate

Our first job for those lovely people at Hunter’s Wines, based a country mile from the Wairau Valley at the top of New Zealand’s South Island. They kindly asked us for some ideas for their Sauvignon Blanc, Spring Creek label. As their brief requested we kept it simple – with a subtle background dingbat graphic – allowing a quick hit on the name, vintage and varietal.                       Seems to have gone down well – much the same as the product (sorry, couldn’t resist)… Cheers!

Scan Me!

We’ve had a lot of interest in QR Codes from wine businesses, who are less keen to redesign/reprint bottle labels. Here’s a cute way to get info to your potential customers. How does it work? Attracted to your lovely product by our brilliant neck collar (and some kind of promotion), the customer scans the QR code with a smartphone. This sends them to a form on your website (when filled out this updates your customer database) where they can download a barcode to their phone which will give them a discount when scanned at the till. All done in-store… neat!
